WIDEX CROS has been developed to meet the needs of people with single sided deafness. WIDEX CROS picks up sound from the side of the deaf ear, and sends it wirelessly to a receiving hearing aid on the better ear. WIDEX CROS can be used in both CROS and BiCROS solutions – that is for people who have a deaf ear and a normal-hearing ear (CROS) and people who have a deaf ear and some degree of hearing loss in the other ear (BiCROS).
The WIDEX CROS portfolio consist of, the FUSION model, for users looking for a more discrete solution and the FASHION model for users wanting a volume-control. Users of the FASHION will have the option of adjusting the volume control. Both models will give the option of turning the transmission ON or OFF by pressing on the program button. WIDEX CROS has a long battery life, due to the WidexLink technology that’s used for transmitting sound to the receiving hearing aid. Finally, different ear-set solutions can be used with WIDEX CROS, depending on the needs of the user.
